Abstract

Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases (PTM) which is a very serious health problem. Hypertension is characterized by a systolic blood pressure of more than 140 mmHg and a diastolic pressure of more than 90 mmHg, based on two or more measurements. Deep breathing exercises are a form of non-pharmacological therapy, in which the nurse teaches the client how to take deep breaths, slow breaths (maximum inspiration) and how to exhale slowly. Besides being able to reduce pain intensity, deep breathing relaxation techniques can also increase lung ventilation and increase oxygenation in the blood. The general purpose of applying deep breathing relaxation techniques to reduce headache in hypertensive patients. With data collection techniques through interviews, observation and literature study. The results of the application of deepbreathing relaxation techniques to reduce headache in hypertensive patients with an initial pain scale before giving a deep breath relaxation application of 4 (0-10) and after being given deep breath relaxation became a pain scale of 1. The authors concluded that there was an effect of the application of deep breathing relaxation techniques on Mr. A with headache in a hypertensive patient.
