Abstract
Anxiety is an individual response to an unpleasant situation and is experienced by all living things. Specific events or situations can trigger anxiety attacks. This anxiety can be controlled with pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. One of the nonpharmacological treatments for anxiety is deep breathing relaxation techniques. This activity aims to determine the effectiveness of deep breathing relaxation techniques in the elderly with anxiety. This research method uses a case study strategy. The author applies deep breathing relaxation techniques when the client is having a break, by checking the level of anxiety through questionnaires at pre and post-implementation. The results obtained after the application of breathing relaxation techniques on the HARS scale: 24(moderate anxiety) to the HARS scale: 16 (mild anxiety). It can be concluded that there is an effect of deep breathing relaxation techniques on the elderly with anxiety.
