Abstract

Pulmonary TB is an infectious infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis which attacks the lungs and all other organs of the body. These bacteria can enter through the respiratory and digestive tract (GI) and open wounds on the skin. But mostly through inhalation of droplets that come from people who are infected with the bacteria. Prolonged cough with signs and symptoms can cause bleeding, shortness of breath, chest pain, accompanied by fever for more than 3 weeks, loss of appetite, and rapid weight loss. One of the treatments is to use non-pharmacological therapy, one of which is the application of the semi-Fowler's 450 position. The purpose of writing this scientific paper is to reduce the respiratory rate in pulmonary tuberculosis patients. The method of writing this scientific paper is a case study with a semiFowler position of 450 . This therapy was carried out for 3 days 3 meetings with a time of 15 minutes at each meeting. The results obtained after applying the semi-Fowler position to decrease the respiratory rate from 30x/minute to 24x/minute, spo2 from 90% to 95%. The conclusion of the authors is that giving the semi-Fowler's position is very effective in reducing shortness of breath in pulmonary tuberculosis patients.
