Abstract
THE EFFECT OF THE USE OF IRON SAND AS FINE AGGREGATE WITH RICE HUSK ASH FILLER FOR AC-BC LASTON ASPHALT MIXTURE. Nurhadi Hidayat. NIM.1630111008. Road pavement is designed to support the quality of road services from the physical and technical aspects. Good pavement quality is obtained from the selection of materials for the road and the determination of the design of the mixture of road pavement materials according to their needs. This study focuses on planning road pavement with a mixture of coarse aggregate, fine aggregate using iron sand, and the use of rice husk ash filler with several variations and using a binder in the form of asphalt. Filler is one of the materials that functions as a filler for hot asphalt mixtures, which in this study was selected in the form of rice husk ash because it has 70%-80% silica. This study seeks to exploit the potential of rice husk ash waste to become part of the local material (filler) for a mixture of construction materials for the Laston AC-BC road pavement. The filler in question is designed in variations of 0%, 50% and 100% to determine the quality of the designed road pavement. The test method used is the Marshall test in the laboratory. The results of the study using fine aggregate in the form of iron sand and rice husk ash filler showed an increase in the quality of the road pavement compared to normal asphalt mixtures.
