Abstract

Cholesterol levels or hypercholesterolemia is a condition where cholesterol levels contained in the blod are within normal limits which can increase the risk of degenerative diseases such as coronary heart disease (CHD) and diseases associated with blockages in blood vessels. Factors triggering an increase in blood cholesterol levels include the habit of eating unhealthy foods, especially foods that contain saturated fat, high cholesterol, and lack of physical activity can also be trigger factors. At the time of the assessment of the diagnosis that appeared pain related to the inability of Mrs. M's family in caring for sick family members and the lack of knowledge in Mrs. M's family related to the inability of the family in family problems in health problems so the action taken was to provide health education to Mrs. M's family can increase family knowledge in hypercholesterolemia. So, this health education can be applied in family nursing in cases of lack of family knowledge and reducing pain.
