Abstract

The introduction of marine mammals to children today is usually still done by using poster media, marine animal picture books. However, the media is still considered to have shortcomings. Children tend to get bored quickly and are less interested in these learning patterns, because of the lack of interactivity of the existing learning media. In addition, the learning pattern of children who like to play is also very influential. Therefore we need a learning method that refers to three aspects, namely convenience, fun and visuals. From the easy aspect, namely so that children can understand, it is fun so that children can enjoy their learning, and visually so that children can capture an image of the shape of the object displayed. Markerless is a method that is included in augmented reality so that the use of this markerless method can make it easier for users to use this marine mammal recognition application because it does not require a special marker to be able to bring up 3d objects so that the use of this application can be used anywhere and anytime. The results that have been utilized by the application of the introduction of marine mammals are that they can be applied and become a learning tool for early childhood children. Therefore, a more interactive and fun learning media is needed. It is hoped that in the future this application can be used on all platforms not only Android and is expected to run online to make it easier to add data and update applications.
