Abstract

Old age is the final stage of a human's life. The aging process will cause various health problems, namely sleep disturbances (insomnia). Sleep pattern disorder (insomnia) is a condition in which a person has difficulty falling asleep, especially at night. To reduce the level of insomnia, murottal Al-Qur'an therapy is carried out. This research uses case study method and journal literature.. The data of this research were taken by using interview, observation, questionnaire sheet and physical examination method. Participants were taken as many as one respondent, namely a 67 year old elderly who had disturbed sleep patterns with an insomnia score of 16 categories of moderate insomnia. The action given is therapy murottal Al-Qur'an QS. Ar-Rahman 78 verses for 12 minutes 6 days in a row every 21.00 WIB. The results showed that the client experienced a decrease in the level of insomnia which initially scored 16 categories of moderate insomnia to a score of 11 categories of mild insomnia. Based on these results, it can be concluded that murottal Al-Qur'an therapy affects the sleep quality of the elderly.
