Abstract

Semi Fowler's position is a semi-sitting position by supporting the head and shoulders using a pillow, and footwear must maintain the position of the feet. This method is the simplest and most effective way to reduce the risk of decreasing the development of the chest wall by setting a comfortable and safe resting position, one of which is the Semi Fowler's Position with a slope of 30o - 45o. The purpose of this application is to determine the effect of the application of the Semi Fowler's Position on heart patients with shortness of breath in RT.03/RW.03 Kel. Citamiang district. Citamiang, Sukabumi City, West Java. The method in scientific writing is a case study with Semi Fowler's Position Application. Data collection techniques were carried out by interview, observation, and documentation. Before the application of the semi-Fowler's position, the client's breathing was 28x/minute and the results of the intervention showed a change after the application of the semi-Fowler's position in cardiac patients with shortness of breath, namely Breathing Response of 20x/minute. The conclusion of this paper is that the application of the Semi Fowler's Position can reduce shortness of breath in heart patients and this application can be an alternative for someone who has heart disease with shortness of breath.
