Abstract

Elderly is a natural process that is listed by God Almighty. Everyone will experience the process of getting old and old age is the last period of human life. As an elderly person experiences physical, mental, social weakness gradually. Hypertension is systolic blood pressure > 140 mmHg and systolic blood pressure > 90 mmHg or if the patient is taking antihypertensive drugs. The aim of the study is to understand and apply head massage in nursing care with headaches in the elderly in the Ciherang village area. The design of this study used the method of observation, interviews, literature studies, literature studies. The sample taken is one respondent, namely the elderly with hypertension. The results showed that there was a change in blood pressure after being given a head massage on headache in hypertensive clients from a pain scale of 4 to 1 (0-10). Based on the results of this study, it is expected that head massage can be applied to reduce the headache scale in the elderly with hypertension.
