Abstract

Toddlers are an age group that is vulnerable to health problems, while at that age children under five experience very rapid development. Nutritional problems in children under five have an impact on the quality of human life, malnutrition increases the mortality rate. One of the countermeasures in nutritional problems is the provision of additional food such as biscuits, where biscuits can be enjoyed by all age groups from infants to the elderly. In this application of giving biscuits, the basic ingredient of purple sweet potato is used. The author uses the case study method. This data was taken using interview, observation, and anthropometric examination methods. The client is An. A is 4 years old and has malnutrition problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of giving purple sweet potato biscuits to children with poor nutritional status. The actions given were giving purple sweet potato biscuits and health education about malnutrition. Based on the results of the author's analysis of the application of giving purple sweet potato biscuits it affects the nutritional status of An. This is in accordance with Ibrahim's research (2018). Suggestions from the author are that in the future this application can develop and become one of the methods to reduce malnutrition.
