Abstract

Post partum is the period in which a mother after giving birth until the state of the uterus returns to its pre-pregnancy state which lasts about 6 weeks. Childbirth often results in injury to the birth canal, the injuries are usually minor but sometimes extensive and dangerous injuries occur. Care that is not maintained in the birth canal so that it can cause infection. Management to avoid infection of the perineum, it is necessary to take care of the vulva called vulva hygiene, vulva hygiene is cleaning the vulva area in mothers who have given birth until 42 days after delivery The purpose of this case study is to determine the relationship between vulva hygiene and wound healing and to prevent infection. Data collection techniques were carried out by interview, observation and literature/documentation studies. The results showed that there was faster wound healing and no infection and felt comfortable and happy that the vagina was clean. The conclusion is that vulvar hygiene is effective in accelerating perineal wound healing and can prevent infection. Suggestions for all post partum mothers to do proper vulvar hygiene after giving birth because the benefits are very good for maternal health after childbirth.
