Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is a menstrual problem that many young women experience when they enter puberty. The purpose of this research is to carry out the application of progressive muscle relaxation measures against dysmenorrhea pain in adolescent girls. The data collection methods available are by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the progressive muscle relaxation technique was effective against dysmenorrhea pain from the results of a pain scale of 5 (0-10), after being given progressive muscle relaxation the scale decreased to 2 (0-10). The benefits of the results of this study are expected to be useful for developing nursing research on progressive muscle relaxation interventions to reduce dysmenorrhea pain in adolescent girls. The conclusion is from the assessment that clients with dysmenorrhea pain experience a decrease in abdominal pain, as for suggestions that are expected to help further writing and make reference materials in the writing process, hopefully with this progressive muscle relaxation technique it can control abdominal pain.
