Abstract

Menstruation begins between the ages of 12-15 years and lasts until the age of 45-50 years. Complaints that often arise during menstruation are irritability, restlessness, difficulty sleeping, impaired concentration of breast enlargement and disturbances related to menstruation in the form of dysmenorrhea. One of the most common complaints experienced by adolescents during menstruation is menstrual pain. The purpose of this study was to understand and apply warm compresses to pain in dysmenorrheal adolescents. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews, observations, and literature/documentation studies. The results of the study after a warm compress for 3 days showed a change in the acute pain scale for dysmenorrhea pain with the previous pain scale from 4 (0-10) to 0 (0-10) measured by the Numerical Rating Scale (NRC). It can be concluded that giving warm compress therapy has an effect on decreasing the pain scale experienced by young women with acute pain in dysmenorrheal pain. Warm compresses are effective in reducing the pain symptoms of dysmenorrhea experienced by adolescent girls. For further researchers, it is hoped that they can help and make reference materials in the writing process to apply warm compresses to dysmenorrhea pain.
