Abstract

Growth can be interpreted as follows: increase in size in a physical sense as a result of the multiplication of the number of cells and the enlargement of the cells themselves in the human body. Development means the increase in skills and complex functions of a person. Growth and development in practice are interrelated so that it is difficult to separate. Various problems of child development, such as motor delays, language, behavior, autism, hyperactivity in recent years are increasing, the incidence in the world, in the United States ranges from 12-16%, Thailand 24%, Argentina 22%, and in Indonesia between 13-18%. This study uses a case study method. Looking at the epidemiological figures, it is necessary to have early detection in children with developmental disorders to prevent delays in handling. If not treated properly, this disorder can continue into adolescence or adulthood. The data of this research were taken by using interview method, observation, DDST II sheet and physical examination. Participants were taken as many as 6 children, one respondent, namely children aged 5 years who experienced growth and development disorders. The action given is the method of playing puzzles for 1 hour 6 consecutive days every 10.00 WIB. The results of the study showed that the client experienced a delay in growth and development, which at first could not distinguish the colors and shapes of objects in the puzzle to be a little able to distinguish them. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the method of playing educational puzzles can overcome developmental disorders in children. Fine motor skills are movements that involve finer movements performed by small muscles.
