Abstract

Hypertension is an increase in systolic blood pressure of at least 140 mmHg, diastolic pressure of at least 90 mmHg. Hypertension is not only a high risk of suffering from heart disease, but also suffering from other diseases such as diseases of the nerves, kidneys, and blood vessels, the higher the blood pressure, the greater the risk. The triggering factors for hypertension are genetic factors, gender, age, obesity, high consumption of salt and alcohol. Hypertension can be treated with one of the non-pharmacological therapies, fruits that can be used as high blood pressure therapy are generally fruits that contain a lot of water, one of which is cucumber. That is by giving cucumber juice, which is a fruit that has a high water content so that it can help lower blood pressure. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of cucumber juice on blood pressure.
