Abstract

The titled of this research is Emosi Pada Tokoh Waris Dalam Novel Desert Flower Karya Waris Dirie dan Cathleen Miller. The main character in the novel is Waris who shows that he often experiences negative or positive emotions. The objectives of this research are: To describe the classification of emotions, and to describe the effect of emotional of the main character Waris in novel. The research method is qualitative descriptive method. In generally, this research used reading, listening, and note-taking techniques. While specifically, the data in this research was based on monologue and dialogue conducted by Waris as a character. The results of this research are describe the classification of Waris emotions such as: shock and wonder, sad, happy, afraid, worried and restless, angry, surrender. While the factors that effect of emotions are biological being, matter and energy, natural phenomenon, symbols and graphics, attitudes and behaviors.
