Abstract

WULAN SARI. 2021. Identification of the Galangal (Kaempferia galanga L.) Market Potential in Sukabumi District. Under the guidance of RENY SUKMAWANI and ENDANG TRI ASTUTININGSIH. This research was conducted to identify the potential galangal market in Sukabumi Regency. The method used in this research is a descriptive method that is carried out in three sub-districts that have the largest galangal production in Sukabumi Regency, namely in Ciemas District, Waluran District and Kalibunder District. The results showed that (1) the supply (production) of galangal in Sukabumi regency exists, with an average prosuksi of 20-50/kg per year and production remains every year; (2) the demand (consumer) is < 1 kilogram or < 0.25 kg per purchase with a percentage of 65% with a fixed purchase with the fulfillment of consumer demand; (3) Selling price of farmers: average < Rp.20.000/kg, selling price of middlemen and traders is Rp.20.000/kg – Rp.25.000/kg, consumer purchase price: Rp.25.000/kg.; (4) Galangal market and marketing in Sukabumi regency is good with facilities and easy access and can sell outside Sukabumi Regency. Thus based on these 4 indicators, Sukabumi regency has the potential of galangal market, because it can produce and meet the market both for inside and outside Sukabumi Regency.
