Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the response of Physical education Health and Recreation students in Sukabumi to online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study is part of the evaluation process related to academic activities, students' readiness, and the effectiveness of implementing online learning. In conducting the research, the writer uses descriptive survey method with cross sectional or longitudinal research design. This research was conducted to the sixth semester students of Physical Education Health and Recreation in Sukabumi consisted of Muhammadiyah university and STKIP Bina Mutiara. The students responses regarding online learning were obtained based on 22 questions about academic activities during the pandemic period sourced from the Ministry of Education and Culture, Directorate General of Higher Education. As the result of this research, 7 students response related to the readiness of students to participate in online learning or 10.9 % stated as very ready and 19 students or 29.7 % stated as ready. Afterwards, students responses related to the effectiveness of online learning compared to face-to-face learning were 61 students or 95.3 % stated that face-to-face learning was better than online learning and 3 students or 4.7 % stated that online learning was better than face-to-face learning. Based on the data, the dominance of students responses stated that they are not ready for the implementation of online learning and face-to-face learning is better than online learning.
