Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the hanging ball game method on volleyball underhand passing skills in extracurricular activities at SMK Harapan Bangsa. The research method used is the pre-experimental method with the research design "Quasi One-Gruop Pretest-Posttest Design", namely the initial test (pretest) and the final test (post-test). The measurement test used for under-passing uses the measurement test instrument from the Brumbach forearms pass-wall-volley test (Richard H. Cox, 1980: 101-103). This test has a test reliability of 0.896 with a validity of 0.8. The population used in this study were the volleyball extracurricular participants of SMK Harapan Bangsa, totaling 30 students consisting of 17 class X participants and 13 class XI participants. The sample was taken using random sampling and the sample of this study used all research subjects, namely 30 male students. The technique or method of collecting research data is carried out in the extracurricular activity process which is carried out 3 times a week, which is carried out as many as 16 treatments. The results of this study have a significant value (54.5%) where the value is <0.05. Thus it can be concluded that the implementation of the hanging ball game method has a significant effect on volleyball underpassing skills in extracurricular activities at SMK Harapan Bangsa.
