Abstract

Everyone has the right to seek knowledge from the time he was born until the end of his life. The need for education makes people willing to spend a lot of money to go to school as high as possible to pursue their goals through science. Therefore, it has become an obligation for educational institutions in Indonesia, especially tertiary institutions to ensure that each student gets education that is in accordance with their rights. In order to realize this, it is very important to have a process of monitoring the lecture activities to ensure the fulfillment of the rights of students as students. This research focuses on developing a monitoring system for case studies of lecture activities in Informatic Engineering study program of the University of Muhammadiyah Sukabumi (UMMI). The goal is to provide a system that helps the head of the study program in carrying out their duties to monitor lecture activities to fit the Semester Learning Plan. The system will provide data and information about lecture activities in an actual and credible manner, provide more organized information and can prevent the possibility of data manipulation such as student attendance and others. Data collected in this study were sourced from interviews, observations and literature studies. The design uses an object oriented approach with UML (Unified Modelling Language) and created using Laravel framework with PHP programming language and MySQL database management system. This application helps improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work in the monitoring process carried out by lecturers, head of study program and class representatives. This process includes the submission of Semester Learning Plan by lecturers, reviewing and approval of Semester Learning Plan by head of study program to filling out lecture monitoring reports and student student attendance reports by lecturers.
