Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of the Argument Driven Inquiry (ADI) model supported by Argument Mapping (AM) on argumentation ability of junior high school students in respiratory system material. This type of research is a quasi experiment with a nonequivalent control group design. The sample in this study were two classes taken from class VIII of SMPN 13 Sukabumi City in the school year 2019/2020 using purposive sampling techniques. The research instrument used in the form of a 7 item argumentation ability test in the form of a description based on the level criteria and argumentation indicators adapted from the Toulmin Argumentation Pattern (TAP), and students response questionnaire totaling 10 statements. The results showed that in the posttest test hypothesis the experimental class and control significance (Sig.2-tailed) were 0.000
