Abstract

The Cipelang Sukabumi River is a tributary of the Cimandiri River which flows from the Sukabumi City area and parts of Sukabumi Regency. The Cipelang Sukabumi River is a tributary that carries a supply of sediment in the form of sand, which can cause sedimentation, which is both an advantage and a disadvantage. Sediment is a process of deposition of material carried by the river flow from the upstream and ending in the downstream. The location of this research is in the Cipelang River and the sampling is located at the upstream point of the river, the midpoint of the river is located at, and the upstream point of the river is located in the formulation of the problem in the study, namely to determine the type and amount of sediment that occurs in the Cipelang River using Yang's method and Engelund and Hasen, as well as analyzing the amount of erosion that occurred in the Cipelang Sukabumi River Watershed using themethod Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE). Yang's and Engelund and Hasen methods are methods for predicting the amount of bed load carried by river flows and the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) method is a method for calculating the amount of erosion that occurs in river flows. The results of calculations that have been done show that the erosion that occurs in the Cipelang Sukabumi River Basin is 2615.69 tonnes / ha / year. The largest sediment using the Yang's method is at thepoint upstreamof sample 3 0.7545 tonnes / day or 0.000503 tonnes / ha / year and the smallest is at the downstream point of sample 3.0.01080 tonnes / day or 0.000072 tonnes / ha / year. The largest sediment calculation using the Engelund and Hasen method is the midpoint of sample 3 1.5999 tons / day or 0.001067 tons / ha / year and the smallest is at the downstream point of sample 3 0.0414 tons / day or 0.000028 tons / ha / year.
