Abstract

Online news is a journalistic activity that uses written language as a medium to convey information to the public. Writing online news must hold fast to the rules of the General Guidelines for Indonesian Spelling (PUEBI). This rule helps online news writers in processing data so that messages conveyed in online news can be received by readers. The General Guidelines for Indonesian Spelling (PUEBI) consist of four chapters, namely the use of letters, writing words, writing uptake elements, and the use of punctuation. In these four chapters two chapters have been found on JabarTribunnews.com news. including errors in writing words and punctuation. JabarTribunnews is one of the online news that provides information about events or news in West Java. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, which describes the spelling errors contained in the JabarTribunnews.com news, so this research was conducted to find out the spelling mistakes in the June 25, 2020 edition of JabarTribunnews.com.
