Abstract

The title of this research is Kepribadian Tokoh Elijah dalam Novel The Fifth Mountain Karya Paulo Coelho. The objectives of this research are : To describe the personality of Elijah, and To describe the personality formation of Elijah in novel. The research method is descriptive qualitative method. The approach applied is objective approach. The result of this research are characteristics of Elijah personality that is healty personality : being able to evaluate yourself realistically, accept responsibility, can control emotions, outgoing-oriented, goaloriented, philosophy of life and happiness. Unhealty personality of Elijah are characterized by : chronic depression, habitual lying, sleeplessness, headaches, pessimism, lack of zeal in living. Furthermore, factor of Elijah personality formation are genetic factor and environmental factor.
