Abstract

Poultry farming in Indonesia is currently growing rapidly, marked by the establishment of a modern poultry farming company. However, disease is a factor that causes decreased egg productivity. There are at least 4 diseases that cause the decline in egg productivity that are often encountered by breeders, namely Newcastle Disease (ND), Avian Influenza (AI), Infectious Bronchitis (IB), and Egg Drop Syndrome (EDS). These diseases are usually difficult to diagnose by farms because of the similar characteristics and symptoms, making it difficult for farmers to take precautions. This article presents an expert system model using the backward chaining method as a media for consulting breeders. The research results are in the form of information on the disease and solutions for handling it, it is hoped that with this expert system breeders can be more careful when convicting chicken disease, by consulting to get additional information or alternative solutions regarding the problems they are experiencing.
