Abstract

Ricky Gian Romansyah, 2020. Analysis Comparative of Baster Fish Hatchery Farming with Various Substrates in Boss Baster Company, Muaradua Village, Kadudampit District, Sukabumi Regency. Advised by Amalia Nur Milla and Ashrul Tsani. Baster (Carassius auratus) is a freshwater ornamental fish commodity which belongs to the group of carp, in which its natural habitat is in East Asia. The success of the cultivation of baster begins with a good hatchery process and is influenced by the substrate used. Boss Baster Company is one company that innovates by trying various substrates in the hatchery process. The research was directed to determine the analysis comparative of baster fish hatchery farming with various substrates in the Boss Baster companies in Sukabumi. The method applied in the research was descriptive method. The data required in this study were primary and secondary data. The primary data were collected by interviewing baster fish business owners using a questionnaire. Thus, secondary data were obtained indirectly from the sources relevant to the research, such as literature, journals, previous researches and documentation. The location was selected by using purposive sampling, the method of determining samples with certain considerations. The data were processed using farming business analysis. The results of the research show that the cost of farming a hatchery of baster fish with kajo, plastic and sugar palm fiber (kakaban) substrate have differences. The total cost incurred by the company for hatching baster fish with plastic and kakaban substrates is lower than that of kajo substrate. Meanwhile, the yield of baster fish hatchery production is higher using kajo substrate compared to using plastic and kakaban substrates. Therefore, farm income from hatchery of baster fish with kajo substrate is greater than plastic substrate and kakaban. Baster hatchery farming is more profitable with kajo substrate compared to plastic and kakaban substrate. It is suggested that baster fish hatchery cultivation use kajo substrate.
