Abstract

Land has a very important role in the planning and work of a civil building construction. Therefore, the soil functions as a load bearing due to construction on the land that must be able to carry all the building loads and other expenses that are taken into account, then can continue it into the soil to a certin layer or depth. So that the strength of the building / construction is also influenced by existing soil conditions. One of the soils commonly found in a construction is clay type. Land originating from the area of Gunung Guruh Village of Sukabumi District with the addition of Jebrod Sand after a Standard Proctor compacting test, the maximum density at the addition of 30% Jebrod sand is 1.14 gr / cm3. From the results of the vibrating plate compaction test with the addition of 30% sand, obtained the highest value of density / CBR at the number of 8 rolling that is 17.99%.
