Abstract

Financial distress is a condition in which a company is unable to fulfill the company’s obligations. The research was aimed at determining the influence of Liquidity and Profitability in measuring financial distress at PT. Eterindo Wahanatama Tbk. and PT. Waskita Karya Tbk. The analsysis technique used was multiple linear analysis and partial (t test) and simultaneous (f test) statistic test was applied for testing hypothesis. Based on data analysis result, it can be concluded that liquidity (CR) gives positive yet not significant influence in measuring financial distress with t count amounted to 0.115 and significance amounted to 0.532 so that the first hypothesis is rejected. Thus, profitability (ROA) gives positive and significant influence in measuring financial distress with t count amounted to 0.667 and significance amounted to 0.025 so that the second hypothesis is accepted. The result of simultaneous test is liquidity (CR) and profitability (ROA) influence financial distress, showing f count amounted to 2.967 and significance rate amounted to 0.049 so that the third hypothesis is accepted. The determination coefficient test is amounted to 0.170. It means that the influence of Liquidity (CR) and Profitability (ROA) toward Financial Distress is aggregated to 17%, while the remaining 83% is influenced by other factors not explained in the research. Due to financial distress if the company doses no quickly improve, its likely that the company will experience financial distress.
