Abstract

John Howkins began introducing the term creative economy in 2001. Beginning in 1997, Howkins realized a wave of new economic industries based on creativity. The development of the creative economy in Indonesia has great potential in terms of the large number of creative young generation, large population, and caring governments. This is a good capital for Indonesia to succeed in the field of creative economy as the backbone of Indonesia's economy. The scope of the creative industry consists of 16 sub-sectors and one of them is craft. Craft is an art activity that focuses on hand skills and functions to process raw materials that are often found in the environment into objects that are not only valuable, but also aesthetically valuable. Along with the development of technology there are now many websites that provide a forum for sharing information. It is expected that special websites for craft or craft tutorials that allow users to share or search for this tutorial can later provide convenience for the community, students and students who have a hobby of art in sharing and creating a creative work. With the creation of this website, it can facilitate the communication of the creative economy actors in the craft subsector with the general public using the concept of social networking.
