Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementing inquiry learning model and describe cariousity improvement of science learning in high class trough the application inquiry learning model. The research method used was Classroom Action Research with a research design using the Kemmis and Mc Taggart models which were carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementing actions and observations, and reflection. The participants in this study were 24 students in 4th grade B of Adzkia 3rd Integrated Elementary Islamic School in Sukabumi city, consisting of 15 male students and 9 female students. Data collection techniques in this study used observation technique, questionnaire, interview and field notes. Instrumen used teacher activity observation sheet, student activity observation sheet, curiosity activity observation sheet, curiosity questionnaire sheet and field note sheet. The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive. The observation’s result of teacher activity in the frist cycle trough inquiry learning model reached 76. Then increasing in the second cycle reached 91. Whereas the observation’s result of student activity in the frist cycle trough inquiry learning model reached 75. Then increasing in the second cycle reached 89. The results of the pre-cycle study through an observation of indicators of cariousity, showed cariousity percentage reached 44%. Then increasing in the first cycle cariousity percentage reached 65%. Whereas in the second cycle, observation results showed cariousity percentage reached 89%. The results of the first cycle cariousity percentage through a questionnaire of cariousity reached 68%. Whereas in the second cycle, results showed questionnaire of cariousity percentage reached 92%. The study conclution is that student’s cariousity trough inquiry learning model in the high class (fourth grade) increases through the application of the inquiry learning model the 2018/2019 school year.
