Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the application of TGT learning model (Teams Games Tournament) to learners' learning motivation and to describe the learning process of learners through TGT learning model (Teams Games Tournament) on moon eclipse and solar eclipse in class VI. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with research design using model Kemmis and Mc Taggart. This research was conducted in two cycles with data collection in the form of observation sheets, questionnaires, and field notes. Participants in this study are class VI students as many as 37 people consisting of 21 men and 16 women. The results obtained from the research show that at the time of learning process increased with the application of TGT learning model (Teams Games Tournament) with the score on the first cycle average score obtained by students 2.9 with fairly good criteria, cycle II average score obtained 3.68 with good criteria. Motivation learners through the application of learning models TGT (Teams Games Tournament) has increased from the results of questionnaires obtained in the first cycle of 67% with strong category and cycle II 88% with very strong category. This research can be concluded that by applying TGT learning model (Teams Games Tournament) can improve learners motivation in moon eclipse and solar eclipse.
