Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the scrambled method on the ability to write description text in 8th grade Indonesian language learning at Mathayom Sanawi level at Attawfikiah Islamiah School Narathiwat, Southern Thailand, 2018/2019 Academic Year. This research is quantitative research. The subjects in this study were students of foreign learning class 8.2 of 23 students. The sampling technique is by using random sampling techniques. This study uses the design of "One Group Pretest-Posttest Design" with a pattern before and after being given a treatment / treatment using the scrambled method. In data collection researchers used a test, after the data was collected, then carried out quantitative analysis through hypothesis testing. Based on the calculation of pre-test and post-test results, after being given a treatment in the learning process for foreign speakers students experienced changes with an average score of 60.86 and the average score post-test 79.82. It is known that the price of tcount is 1.185. The price of the tcount is consulted with a table with degrees of freedom (dk) N-1 or 23-1 = 22 with a significance level of 0.05 then the price of ttable 1.717. These results indicate that the price of tcount is smaller than t table because tcount is 1.208 and t table is 1.717. If tcount is smaller than ttable, the result is not significant. So that it can be concluded that using the scrambled method has no effect on the ability to write description text for students of the 8.2-level class of Mathayom Sanawi in Attawfikian Islamiah School Narathiwat, Southern Thailand.
