Abstract

This research is a quantitative research which aims to examine the effect of the Resource Based Learning learning model on the ability to write plays of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Cikembar. The subjects in this study were students of class VIIIC, totaling 28 students. The sampling technique uses Random Sampling with the design of the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design study using one experimental class without any control class. Based on the results of observations, some students do not know the elements of drama, the structure and rules of linguistic drama. The Resource Based Learning learning model is the right solution to overcome the problems experienced by students. The results showed that students' ability to write plays after being given treatment increased with the gain of 774.7 and an average of 27.66. This is evidenced by the acquisition of Thitung = 14.11> TTable = 2.052. So it can be concluded that the Resource Based Learning learning model has an effect on improving the writing ability of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Cikembar.
