Abstract
This research was motivated by language errors in the writing skills of Thai students in the BIPA program. In this study researchers analyzed spelling, words, and sentences in the description text written by Thai students. This study aims to determine the extent of BIPA students in writing skills at level B1. The method in this study uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques of observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the spelling mistakes in the decryption text of Thai students in the BIPA learning program at B1 level can be seen as follows, found spelling errors in the use of punctuation, preposition, and capital letters. Then, the writing of the error word is found in the use of the standard word. Based on the results of this study the most common errors were errors in the use of punctuation and capital letters. Furthermore, in making sentences it is still ambiguous. Based on writing in the context of BIPA, writing like the data above is in the form of progress contained in level B1.
