Abstract

Hallucinations are one of the symptoms of mental disorders, where the client experiences changes in sensory perception, namely feeling sensory that is not real in the form of sound, sight, taste, touch, or smell . The purpose of this case study is to apply occupational drawing therapy to the ability to control hearing. The method in this scientific paper is a case study with the provision of occupational therapy drawing. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews, observations, and literature/documentation studies. The results showed a decrease in the level of hallucinations before being given occupational therapy drawing with a score of 20 to 16 as measured by the PSYRAT research instrument (Psychotic Symptom Assessment Scale). It can be said that offering occupational therapy for leisure activities has an effect on reducing hallucinatory symptoms experienced by hearing impaired patients. The conclusion of this paper is that offering occupational drawing therapy can reduce the level of auditory hallucinations. The application of occupational drawing therapy is expected to be used as an independent intervention for nurses as a nonpharmacological action on auditory hallucinations. Suggestions for clients are expected to be able to control hallucinations appropriately and safely.
