Abstract
This research is based by the low skill of basic science process of high grade students which is seen in student score result. The purpose of this study is to describe learning process and result from improving the basic science process skills of the students. The research method used is Classroom Action Research using Kemmis and Taggaert cycle model. This research was conducted for 2 cycles equipped with the use of data collection tool in the form of test result, pretest, posttest, questionnaire, observation sheet, and field note. Learning using the Experimental Method shows a good process and a positive response with a sense of student's enthusiasm in filling the Student Worksheet. The results showed that the process of using the Experimental Method can improve the basic process skills of science. Based on the research, the results obtained pretest students with the percentage of 32% (13 students) increased in cycle I with the percentage of 52% (21 students) and in the second cycle reached 95% increase (38 students). These findings are recommended to teachers to apply the Experiment Method in improving the basic process skills of science in high-class students.
