Abstract

Alwi Nova Anggara. Growth Rate of Grasscarp (Cteneopharyngodon idella) in Sandpit Lake, Awilarangan Quarter, Cikahuripan Village, Cianjur Regency. Supervised by Arif Supendi, Pelita Octorina, Novita MZ. This study was aimed to assess the growth rate of Grasscarp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) in sandpit lake with different density and using water spinach (Ipomoea aquatic Forssk) as natural food. Research was done in sandpit lake that located in Awilarangan Quarter, Cikahuripan Village, Cianjur Regency, from March to May 2016. The grow rate of Grasscarp was assessed by initial and final length and weight data, as long as 21 days of cultivation. The treatment has been using is density of fish, there as 25, 50, and 75 fishes/net with 3 repetition. The cultivation was done using floating net cage 1x1m2 in size that equipped by net and water spinach as natural food as much as 40% of net coverage. The result showed that the grasscarp has an average survival rate (SR) as 62,37%, and the highest SR found in the treatment of 50 fishes/net. The highest daily length growth rate is 0,82%/day for the treatment 25 fishes/net and the higest daily weight grow rate is 2,56%/day for the treatment 25 fishes/net. But, the result of analysis of variance showed that there are no different between the treatment for SR and daily weight growth rate (p>0,05) significantly, and only the daily length growth rate have different significantly (p<0,05). The low value of growth rate was indicate that the water spinach is not sufficient the fish, otherwise the water quality was classified as good.
