Abstract

The research is entitled "The Influence of Head of Department's Motivation towards Public Order Enforcers of Sukabumi City". Based on the initial observation conducted by the researcher, it showed that 1) Quantity was not optimal yet, due to the lack of employees placed at Public Order Enforcers of Sukabumi City; 2) Quality was not optimal yet, because the implementation of regional regulation regarding to non-smoking zone had not been implemented well. The research applied motivation theory from Abraham Maslow consisting in the dimension of physiology need, safety and security need, social need, appreciation need, and self-actualization need. Meanwhile, the employee performance theory applied was from Mangkunegara consisting in the dimension of quantity, quality and punctuality. The research method applied in the research was survey method in which the explanation level was associative quantitative. The technique of sampling applied was saturated sampling consisting of the population members amounted to 45 employees of Public Order Enforcers of Sukabumi City. Based on the result of the research, the correlation coefficient shows strong relation between department head's motivation and and employee performance which is amounted to 0.692. Meanwhile, the determination coefficient shows that department head's motivation gives significant influence toward the performance of employees of Public Order Enforcers of Sukabumi City, which is namely aggregated to 47.9%. The suggestion proposed by the researcher is that the motivation given by the head of department of Public Order Enforcers of Sukabumi City has been implemented well, but the Public Order Enforcers of Sukabumi City shall maximize the infrastructure and facility in order to improve the convenience of working. Thus, the Public Order Enforcers of Sukabumi City shall give tasks in accordance with the workload given to the employees in order to be optimal.
